Top 5 Communication Apps in Turkey for Q4 2021

In Q4 2021, the performance of the top 5 communication apps in Turkey varied significantly across key metrics such as weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Snapchat experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 153K in early October and reaching nearly 196K by the end of December. Active users also grew from around 13.8M to 14.7M during the same period.

Telegram saw a significant spike in downloads at the beginning of October, peaking at over 313K. Throughout the quarter, downloads fluctuated but remained strong, ending the year at approximately 147K. Active users peaked in early October at around 10.3M and stabilized around 9.4M by the end of December.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained its position as the leader in active users, starting at 45.7M and ending the quarter at nearly 47.4M. Weekly downloads showed an upward trend in mid-October, peaking at around 325K and remaining robust throughout the quarter.

Messenger had relatively stable weekly downloads, averaging around 105K. Revenue saw a significant spike in the last two weeks of December, reaching nearly $1.2K. Active users remained consistent, hovering around 27M throughout the quarter.

Azar: Video Chat & Meet People experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 80K and dropping to around 53K by the end of December. Revenue peaked in late October at about $201K and saw another spike in mid-December at around $181K. Active users saw a decline from approximately 650K to 547K over the quarter.
